Stabilizator lotu FY-40A to trzyosiowy żyroskop wyposażony w akcelerometry, stosowany w samolotach. Obsługuje on następujące stery samolotu:
  • Ster wysokości
  • Ster kierunku
  • Lotki sterowane na jednym lub dwóch kanałach

Stabilizator wymaga dodatkowego kanału, sterowane przy pomocy przełącznika trójpozycyjnego lub typu slider. Przy ich pomocy aktywowane są następujące tryby:

  • Tryb 1: wyłączony
  • Tryb 2: kontrola 3D (w trzech osiach) - w tym trybie, po przesunięciu drążków do pozycji neutralnej, samolot zachowa ostatnie nadane mu położenie
  • Tryb 3: stabilizacja lotu poziomego (w trzech osiach) - w tym trybie, gdy drązki znajdą się w pozycji neutralnej, samolot powróci do położenia poziomego
